Should I take the honors class for math or just the regular one?

The head of department gave me a choice between the regular math class or the honors math class (geometry and I've already learned a bit of that in my old school). The problem is that honors math looks better for college and helps prepare students for college level work but I don't want to push myself too hard in my first year of boarding school (since I'll need to adjust to living without my parents, living on campus and being in a different school). I would also get better grades if I take regular classes... What should I do? If I do well in regular I can also move up to honors later but I'm worried that I won't be able to because it's not like I'm a mathematical genius or anything.
